I think this is part of the problem... You're going in expecting to be the secondary parent. (Not that I know the particulars of your case).

Anyways, good luck, and remember that it is not about you having more time with your kid, it is about your kid having more time with you, their parent. Make sure you emphasize how it will be in their best interests.

that's not good enough in the USA

you need to submit them to the child support payment center in your county courthouse

according to an article i read just yesterday, a disabled veteran in Nebraska was ordered to pay 11K that he already paid even though he had the cancelled checks because they didn't go through the payment center in the courthouse

don't shoot the messenger. i hope i'm wrong.

check with the court clerk.
