Just venting. I am a 20m and I attend nursing school. This semester I am in my maternity and pediatrics rotation. I was taking care of a 17f patient and all the way through if the parent wasn't in the room another student had to be in the room with me. Even if thr patient was 2 (which also happened) I wasn't allowed in. There were male nurses around that went in without a problem but no I needed someone with me. Same thing in my maternity rotation; when I was going into rooms on the post partum floor (the floor where the new moms go) I needed to have her with me. She wouldn't even let me do my assessment on the patient! I feel discriminated against not to mention other schools of nursing don't have this problem at all
