TLDR: borderline girlfriend attacked me and thankfully left bruises and scratches on me, but I only defended myself so there were no marks on her. She called the cops and we were both arrested. DA dropped the charges because we would not testify against each other.

I had a girlfriend with borderline personality disorder. In 2021, after breaking up numerous times, I made the mistake of listening to her pleas and going back and spending the weekend with her. We had another fight, I told her it was over, and I left. A mile away from her house, she texted me that she was going to throw away $1,000 worth of my possessions at the dump. I stupidly went back. I confronted her as she was pulling out of her driveway in her truck full of my stuff . She got out and attacked me, and then she called the cops. The cop showed up and took us both to jail. Luckily, I had bruises and scratches on my body and face. The only time I touched her was to push her away. In my state, a woman assaulting a man is the least serious misdemeanor, but a man assaulting a woman is the most serious misdemeanor.

She is shrewd so she was willing to not testify against me as long as I did the same because we would both end up with a criminal record. The district attorney dismissed the charges. I feel lucky it only cost me four thousand dollars in legal fees.

Thank God this was in a county that did not publish mugshots for a while because they were hacked. I've had the arrest expunged. The arrest still showed up on background check sites until I went through the laborious process of contacting them all to have them removed.

It is horrible how the system is set up where a woman can ruin a guy's life by making false accusations. if only she had bruises, they would have left her alone and put me in jail. She had no marks on her but they still arrested me.

A year later she called me asking for help because her next boyfriend was stalking her and beating her. She asked for a gun that I had taken away from her because she was suicidal at one point. Later, I checked her on a background check and she was arrested again in April.

Fing women they can ruin your life with 1911 call and lies. The srresting cop said that they don't have any discretion. If a woman says that a man assaulted her, he's going to jail.
