She's insane. The amount of ad hominem attacks and jumping to conclusions from seemingly nowhere is unbelievable. At one point she refers to a relationship as the exchange of things and services in return for female companionship. Don't give it views.

Well, I don't see why we shouldn't apply the logic to both groups. Ever see a woman who refereed to herself as "strong, independent, intelligent, educated, kind, etc"? Same shit. Women who do that are doing nothing short of selling you a lie. Better to just ignore them.

She's kind of making a pretty big presumption by assuming that good guys wouldn't do anything to help women, in any situation, because they are so passive. That simply isn't true. Generally speaking those men will try to do something, especially if certain issues get more serious, despite the fact that it often does costs them. They will often put themselves second and take on more risks and responsibilities for the women they care for than should really be expected of them, despite any social/cultural pressure that would ridicule or vilify them for doing so.

In the cases where this is true however, there are still plenty of issues with what she's trying to say. First of all, it really shouldn't be a man's responsibility to do everything for a woman, or to put himself at risk, to come in and protect women from their situations or decisions. Women have agency and should be expected to defend themselves as much as they expect men to defend them. Why would we put the burden on men to defend women, or all the repercussions that may entail, who seemingly do not wish to defend themselves? What does being assertive, confident or strong in certain situation even have to do with being good, and why should those qualities only be demanded of men? If a guy also keeps a close eye on a situation but doesn't intervene, it's typically because he believes that girl can defend herself or needs to learn how to, but they are still there and ready to intervene at any moments notice should things ever get out of hand.

There are also plenty of cases where women simply do not want their help, or will outright refuse help from of those men(sometimes even going as far as to chastise them for even offering), because they have this prejudice or aversion to their help, their gender or their sexuality. There are situations where you will find good guys wanting to help but find their help to be completely unwanted, even if it is needed, because of some stubborn misconception that some women have(which are typically driven by "anti-nice guy" or "anti-male" views like this article).

This blogger has an extremely jaded view of men and a completely distorted view of good men(not to mention a pretty pompous expectations of men in general) which, in the end, will probably just end up costing her a good man and/or hurting other good men around her.

She is right in that people who label themselves 'good' seldom are, it's usually a sign that said person lacks the introspective capacity to see how impossible it is to label themselves and further how considering yourself having already attained good status permanently sets you up for an inevitable moral slide.

She is right also in that guys who call themselves good guys are generally minimal thinkers and also passive, only stepping in to assert goodness in a situation in extreme cases that almost anyone would step into i.e. to save a child from an axe murderer

Whereas in our society we need people who are willing to stand up for principles at moments when it is bound to cause conflict, when there is risk of being out-grouped. That's the only time it really says anything about you.

Everyone is a hero when it's easy.

Beyond that, her 'formidable suitor' talk is pretty gross and makes it pretty clear she is inclined to think most men are 'scrubs' while ignoring the pedestal she places herself upon and that the level of scrutiny that she applies, should it be turned upon herself, would be equally if not more devastating.

It is hard to believe people get publishing contracts with banal tripe such as her writing.

At least she's admitting she's powerless and wants a 'hero'. Not just a GG who will love her, she needs a hero to swoop in and save her from her own fucked up choices. It's these same people who defend their abusers when the would be hero diss show up.
