Personally, I didn't see the duck as gender neutral, that is a MALE Mallard duck (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mallard). The very distinctive green head with neck ring matches the Mallard species and is very distinctively male.

I've noticed that much of the social media communications from companies only extends well wishes to "excellent" or "the best" fathers - not all dads, unlike mother's day in which it is presumed that women can do no wrong. I would say many men's issues are due shitty, narcissistic mothers.

I've also noticed father's day is a much smaller deal than mother's day - far less social media posts from both individuals and companies, less father's day sales, less father's day promotional emails, etc. It's not like I want more either; I would just rather see mother's day toned down.
