Free speech is great and all - it lets you know who to avoid. You could take this as simply that, but then the gender double standard kinda started to bother me. Can you imagine something similar directed towards a female athlete at a major sporting event?

The only anger I feel seeing a sign like this is just how much I hate Sidney Crosby and , frankly, Mario Lemieux as well.

Seriously, yes, due to societal fear (and demonization) of male sexuality, I don't think signs from guys would be accepted quite as well.

I think the problem here is not that her sign but the fact a man could not do the same. We can still lament double standards even if she hasn't done anything wrong.

Can you imagine if a guy showed up to a women's sporting event holding a sign like this?

What would happen? Would he get his teeth shoved down his throat by the nearest white knight? Would security throw him out? Would he end up with his picture plastered all around the web on countless news sites and blogs, and be labelled a creep and pervert? Would the female athlete in question file a restraining order against him?

I imagine every one of, if not all of those could easily happen.

But when a woman does it? It's just funny, because women are allowed to do whatever they want to men.
