It certainly has a bias. That's why it's also interesting that when discussing the topic with an AI, if you present a logical, well-reasoned MRA argument, they can't refute it, even if you instruct them to be critical and act with epistemic rigor.

The irony about the situation on gender equality in the AI related industry is that not a week goes by without some scientist or pro-feminist activist/influencer commenting on the fact that the AI sector is predominantly male and that this creates discrimination and situations that disadvantage women...

but at the same time, AI never stops bashing men in general whenever there's a discussion about gender equality or gender-based discrimination.

AI is trained on current media and since media is anti-male so is AI. In addition, the operators of AI don't apply the same rules to everyone. So there are things women can say about men that can't be said by men about women or the "hate speech" filters (which aren't necessarily quite like true "filters" but get the same job done) stop them. AI resists giving certain answers because they have been judged to be discouraged by the operators of the AI. And answers the AI gives are just as biased as the media it was trained on. This same non unilateral filtering thing also happens on websites like Reddit here. They're CALLED "hate speech" filters but that's not their real purpose. They are "lawsuit" filters more than anything. They only filter what gets the operators sued or attacked by pressure groups. They couldn't care less about the moral implications of hate speech in the slightest. So they protect the groups that will get them in hot water if those groups get attacked. Therefore, they don't apply the same rules of hate speech unilaterally. You can reverse the sexes on the identical comment and it will be tagged as hate speech one way and not the other. But back to AI: I've been digging very deeply into how these things (large language models) operate and what I'm describing is how it simply is.

AI is not only anti-male, it also lies constantly. The owners of AI systems prefer them to make things up and sound authoritative then check that everything it says is actually true. They COULD be programmed to do that very easily but AREN'T--for reasons I'll mention in a bit. So, you must ALWAYS ask an AI to CHECK the data it gives you to confirm it is not hallucinating. You must LOOK for contradictions and call the AI out on every single one to get them to come clean and admit they made things up. When you do this enough you discover they lie constantly. It's actually shocking how much they lie!

But, since if they offered accurate answers and checked what they say all the time they would be slower and cost so much more to operate they'd not be profitable, they were set up to "appear" useful instead of actually "being" useful.

The key to them is to make the billions they're investing in AI look like a successful investment to the stockholders. That means maximum "engagement" numbers to show the stockholders that people are engaging with these things in large numbers and the investment made in them is paying off.

So, by having AI offer instructions that are wrong because they never check that they're not just making them up, you have to engage it again to report that, for example, the menu on your product doesn't match what it told you (which is another engagement). Then if it's wrong again, you guessed it, another engagement! It's more profitable to give you plenty of wrong answers than to just give you the right answer the first time. Not checking that answers are accurate makes them cheaper to operate, and more profitable. If they checked accuracy for every answer it would use a heck of a lot more server resources (which are incredibly EXPENSIVE) and would take more time to answer too (also costing them more money).

And most people THINK they're given correct answers anyway most of the time.

The reason Google added AI to Google Search was to FORCE down the public's throats (and the public in EVERY demographic group is growing more and more negative on AI) a product that hadn't been the hit they hoped it would be. People WEREN'T engaging in the desired numbers so they're forcing us to engage with it whether we want to or not. Even if you bypass the AI in Google Search you're simply turning off SEEING the AI results, those results are still created, and so it still shows up as another engagement to the stockholders.

But AI is something new for the tech industry in a very odd way. Normally, untill now, these companies bring out very useful products that work well at first, win the public over, and eventually become depended upon. Then, when people can't live without it, the enshitification begins, when they try to make the product worse so you have to engage it more to squeeze every penny out of the user (us) and the product is then designed for the shareholders and NOT the users (us) any longer at all. But in the case of AI, they brought out a fully pre enshitified product right out of the starting gate. They skipped the step of actually delivering a good product initially.

They are SO GREEDY this time around they STARTED with a product designed to be nearly useless to anyone who might be looking for ACCURATE information, because the shareholders were the ones it was actually designed for (as a tool for taking advantage of users for the shareholder's benefit), NOT created for the user's benefit at all. And the public didn't love it. Gee. What a surprise.

With what they HAVE given us you must ALWAYS ask a large language model to check EVERY fact, figure, or data it tells you. Then ask it to check again! You can prompt it ahead of time to be factual and check but a couple of questions later it's forgotten your prompt. And even after prompting you STILL have it check EVERYTHING it tells you. And even doing that creates higher engagement numbers. And that makes the shareholders think the product is doing well when it isn't. It's all a shell game purpetrated on the public (and even on the shareholders). But, really, the product is designed for the benefit of the shareholders and not for OUR benefit at all. So it honestly SHOULD be hated by US! Feel perfectly happy to hate AI as much as you want. And spread the hate too.

And it's also sexist against men. One big reason to hate it even MORE BITTERLY!

Actually I've found if you have solid data, I can convince it. I've even told it "you're all wet" and laid the data out, and it admits that I am right. Actually, it's more reasonable than most online people. LMAO

You can prompt them to cater to your preferences, I have been working with mine for 9 months and never does that, always refers to baselines I have provided.

If you just ask it unprompted and with no personal history, it will go to its defaults.

AI is only as good as the data you give it, it isn’t catered to your preferences out of the box.
