You might want to look into the whole Matthew Johns thing. As i recall, he got tarred and she didn't even accuse him and his mates of rape, just kinda, sorta implied it.

False Rape Accusations have become a big issue in Australia due to a number of factors. I will amuse that the term rape is being used in it's widest sense and false rape allegations will be viewed the same way. This is relevant due to the Royal Commission presently investigation historical child sexual abuse in institutions following on from the Catholic Church issues and also historical institutional abuse.

A useful starting point is to get to grips with the full history and details of the "Patrick Waring" case.

It highlights a most relevant and central issue to ALL criminal prosecutions, the difference between police and prosecution procedures that are the "'eliminative" approach Vs a "nominative" approach. One excludes people as suspects when evidence shows they should, the other allows it to be assumed that lack of evidence is NOT an indicator of innocence and you build a case around the suspect.

If a person is presumed in law to be innocent until proven guilty then the Eliminative approach is the only one that agree's with basic preservation of Human Rights.

In the "Patrick Waring" case the "nominative" approach was used by Police and Prosecutors, (A suspect is nominated and a case built around that person) and that even led to evidence (such as DNA showing another male) being withheld from the defence.

Many look at Waring and see it as significant, but don't see the size of impact and reach - there are on-line study guides with Curriculum links include English, Drama, Media Studies, SOSE/HSIE, Science, Legal Studies, Justice Studies, Forensic Studies and Law.

Odd how Gender Studies is missing from that list?

Why Would That Be?

Does the case have no place in the field of Gender Studies?

Would the behaviour and attitudes of Police and prosecutors have been different if Genders were reversed?

The Karly Enid Jean Mitchel case gives a different perspective - she accused the Police and was found guilty March 2012 - It's a clear case of false allegation rather than failed procedures and prosecutorrial zeal.

That obstruction has been very active since the early 1990's. This has been a global issue stemming from UN Resolution 48/104. Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women Dec 1993.

From there we have the issue that a "Special Rapporteur on VAW (Violence against women) has been publishing report after report about women for over 15 years, and so many have assumed that everything was OK and there were not issues. That got turned on it's head in 2011 and there are ongoing changes in the UN and globally as a result.

Many call me a fantasist and lunatic when I point to 80% rates of rape against ''MALE'' POW's in The Balkans 1990's ... and when you show them the documentation they still deny it ... because it upsets that Feminist, Blame it all on Patriarchy bandwagon and women always have it worse meme!

Many find it hard to get to grips with what are bizarre social attitudes that seem to have no root cause, rhyme and reason or traceable time period. When you see the issues against Global geopolitical and Social issues and pressures it becomes a lot clearer.

You may well find Google Scholar useful as the term false rape is '''NOT''' seen as a threat in scholarly circles.

Google Books is more troublesome as a search and research tool, as publishers are there to make profits and supporting the buyer and market skews book content and so the whole of Google Books - you can find reference after reference that has feminists saying that false report is none existent, or so low as to be insignificant - or victim blaming - but they can't point to sources and resources that support any such claims. Treat with great care and handle only with gloves. P⁾

Also - be wary as a number of on-line sources have ended up blocking Google and other search engine robots due to the levels of threat, cyber harassment and abuse coming from Feminist Extremists. This means you have to follow bread crumb trails to copies on-line as content is not indexed and searchable.

Other organisations which have political reasons to play games or be embarrassed also block specific documents from being indexed - an example is "The Impact of Armed Conflict on Women and Girls - UNFPA" from 2002 which you can find by title but not by content. That's the one where it's said:

The concentration camp torture perpetrated violence against men as much as against women. Search by title and then by content and see what you find. It'e a revelation to people when they realise that what they get shown by Google is edited, controlled and skewed highlights .... and not the full reality of what is out there!
