One of my niece's, who is now in his 3rd year of secondary school, told me yesterday about a construction experience day his school were offering.

As he is interested in construction, I asked if he signed up for it, to which he responded "I can't".

Apparently, to offer equal opportunities to girls, this construction experience programme was made available only to girls.

Now considering how my niece's school hasn't offered any 'boys-only' work experience days, I'm well within my right to say this programme is unfair.

Why not just provide the opportunity to everyone who wants it? If girls want to sign up for it, they can. If boys want to sign up for it, they can.
