Funny how the picture on that poster is a parody of this one.

You remember that one? When young men were forced to go to their deaths while women stayed home safe and sound?

Fuck their notions of male disposability and fuck their re-appropriation of this iconic image of male sacrifice.

Fuck Feminism.

That's what stood out to me as well. It's beyond infuriating.

[–]LAMFF 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Shame me into required support for your supremacy movement? Yeah, no thanks.

[–]Revorob 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That same thought occurred to me. Will feminists ever quit with the shaming language?

[–]LAMFF 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably not until shaming stops being an effective tool for getting people to do things you want them to do.

Was just browsing that MR Edmonton site and saw this.

Now I could not find any reference to the group posting this up, is it just some unknown college thing or an actual prominent feminist group? I feel like they're trying to white feather for their "Gender War" and I am a bit insulted.

Edit: Basically I am just curious if anyone has more info on the group putting up posters like this?

[–]theskepticalidealist 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably a feminist group or is that too vague?

"Woman of Quality support Men's Equality"

Fixed, and it only took me a few seconds, awesome. Ok ladies, were are my downvotes?

[–]CosmicKeys 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men of quality.

Wow. Just wow, they've really got the shaming language down. Of course I'm sure they don't see the irony of using pictures of brave soldiers in WWII to shame men into fighting for a cause and protect women. Quality as in how much of a strong backed workhorse are you for sacrificing yourself at all costs for women's benefit.

women's equality

implying women own equality

[–]Offensive_Brute 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm for womans equality. tired of getting paid the same and doing harderwork cause I'm a man, and I'm tired of not punching loudmouths in the ace just bcause they happen to have tits and a snatch.

[–]Wu_Tang_Shogun 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You make it sound like you would punch them just for screaming at you or calling you names.

[–]Offensive_Brute 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

if a dude got in my face waving his hands, yelling at me, insulting me, I'd probably fucking deck him, yes.

[–]Wu_Tang_Shogun 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So you would physically attack someone without being physically attacked first? Wow, we need more honest, caring citizens like you, screw those people who think you shouldn't throw the first punch, or that you should only fight in self-defense.

[–]Offensive_Brute 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

waving your hands and yelling in my face is provocation. Trying to humiliate and degrade me is provocation. These are acts of aggression that warrant a physical response. People thinking its okay to yell at people and invade their personal space is part of whats wrong with this world, and it happens because people think they can get away with it. Unless we're willing to legally penalize this kind of aggressive behavior, a physical confrontation would be the next most judicious way to dissuade this kind of attack. If people knew this behavior had a price, they would not readily engage in it. Don't start nothin', wont be nothin'.

[–]Wu_Tang_Shogun 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So if someone calls me fat, they're trying to humiliate me, therefore I have a right to beat them unconscious. What's up with the personal space thing? How big is this bubble of yours? 3 inches, 3 feet, or 3 miles? So if someone isn't touching you, you have a right to beat them up?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provocation_%28legal%29

It doesnt give me the right, but it gives me probation or time served vs.legit time for assault and battery.

[–]Wu_Tang_Shogun 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that we should support equality, maybe then, males will actually have a chance in court when filing for divorce or custody.

[–]MockingDead 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Speaks of equality
Shows picture of men raising a feminist flag over the bodies of their male comrades.

Yeah...

[–]Morichalion 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure most people support women's equality. The definition of 'equality' is iffy, though.
