The title of your post does not say anything about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

You for president.

The old 'it's worse for women because we live in a system that's worse for women' trick.

Male privilege does not exist. You cannot simultaneously benefit from and be oppressed by the same system.

FTFY /s

I love the way she says one can't be oppressed by AND privileged by 'a system', then goes right on to claim that you can.

I think this is a case of SJW's changing the definition of complicated words to justify they're ideas, yet the general population still relates those words to they're true definition Like rape now means any form of contact that was unwarranted or unwanted without explicit permission, but when you say rape all you can think about is forcing another person to have sex with you Privilege is a very general term. Maybe I'm 16 yo and have the privilege of driving my dads car. But the fact I can't ask him for money to buy crack does not mean he does not give me certain privileges...

It's queer how my sweet sweeeet male privilege doesn't benefit me when I want it to and only benefits me in ways that are so abstract, immaterial and irrelevant that I don't notice them, but it is possible for a woman to imagine long lists of them. (I.e.: women are weak, therefore I have to be the one doing all the heavy lifting? That's a privilege I benefit from? How about "you look like you love drinking pee so you have to drink pee"? That'd be another privilege, yes?) Also queer is how these privileges don't really matter to someone who can't pay their bills, yet women seem to have enough time on their hands and imagination to dream-up mile-long lists of privileges that such a person enjoys.

And I guess the statement: "you can benefit unjustly in some areas while simultaneously facing unjust disadvantages in other areas since we live in a complex world where, say, anti-black racism and anti-semitism can exist at the same time" would be too mind-blowy for the author, yes? Is she aware that water can exist as lakes and as rivers within the same county?

Is this idiot seriously arguing that men get treated worse, because women are hated?

[–]fengpi 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's their usual boilerplate. Standard issue. Coin of their realm.

[–]jeff_the_nurse 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, because being naturally assumed to be domestic is so much worse than being naturally assumed to be a pedophile or a bad parent. This is just retarded.

So the author has never used her looks to get out of a ticket, or started crying at work to stop a reprimand, LOL

No, she's been a total straight-arrow and is a $100% eqwality-woman. When she's in the car with her boyfriend and the tire bursts, she turns to him and say- "Don't worry, my handsome turtle-dove! You sit tight in here where it's comfortable and listen to the radio. I'll roll-up my sleeves and fix it in a jiffy!" She hops her five-foot-tall body out onto the snowy street, whips the jack out of the trunk, cranks the car-up, undoes those lug-nuts lickety-split and in 10 minutes they're on the road again. You betcha.

Isn't it weird how men are the only oppressor class in all of history which is worse off for its oppressor status? White slaveowners in the Antebellum South were demonstrably worse off when they lost their slaves than they were before. White people in the US live almost 10 years longer than Natives. No one would argue that freeing the slaves or returning Native land would make white Americans better off, because it wouldn't and that's not why people want to do it. So why is it that people genuinely argue that "smashing the patriarchy" will make men better off?
