I have discussed this with one of my former classmates recently (he's a feminist). They go with the claim that its because the patriarchy undervalues work done by women.

This topic shows up in here a lot and I was under the impression the wage gap stats were adjusted for education level, job title, location, ect. It's pretty obvious that theses stats would mean absolutely nothing if they were not adjusted. Educate me.
