I'm in the second year nursing program with a 4.0 after 45 credit hours. Nursing school is pretty expensive with uniforms, tools, medical exams, CPR training, books, lab kits, etc. I DO have an academic scholarship that pays tuition. However, why is it that there are scholarships for men / women, and just women? I have had several rejection letters saying that I met all requirements but sorry this scholarship is just for women. Like this:

Dear Mr. Bleh,

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, however, the scholarship is designated by the foundation to be used only for women. The financial aid officers are usually familiar with our parameters and do not send male applicants.

I am sorry for the confusion and I wish you well as you pursue your academic and career goals.

Sincerely, XXX
