A post about a man being discriminated is removed due to being a "Troll" post. Reddit at it's best.

Husband is a 'Failure' and 'Deadweight' for trying to have a say in his childs birth: AITA for “rudely” telling my husband I decide who is in the delivery room?

I find such instances troubling for a number of censorship reasons.

  1. To save money, more sites are incorporating user moderation which is prone to abuse. This post was clearly reported not because it was trolling, but because someone wanted to silence mens issues.

  2. It shows what an uphill struggle men’s rights faces.

  3. This kind of censorship goes beyond men’s issues. I like to read all sides of an issue so I can be informed and make good choices, but that’s not possible if information that’s not PC is being censored. Even more problematic than one side being censored, is not even knowing one is only getting a one sided view. Of course that’s what feminists want. They want to censor instances of discrimination against men so it never even occurs to most people, it’s an issue.

Most of reddit is compromised. In most groups, you can only voice leftist opinions. If you have any opinion that are "right wing" it basically gets deleted. Men's issues are apparently considered right wing. This sub gets attacked all the time by leftists trying to silence us. That's why I think it is important for people here to migrate away from reddit.

[–]63daddy 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Sadly, it’s not just Reddit, it’s happening across most media and social media platforms. While I think it tends to be conservative views that get censored most, I don’t think the politics of censorship fall just along party lines. I’ve seen some liberal celebrities get incredibly beat up for saying something that stepped outside the accepted politically correct narrative.

I think it’s more of a SJW thing. SJW attitudes tend to be liberal but not exclusively so.

[–]AggressiveProblem654 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, that's why you have to go to the non-mainstream media websites like gab, communities dot win, parler and so on. Those websites actually allow freedom of speech.

Also yes you are correct. It is not simply about being "democrat" that you gets you a pass. You have to say the "correct thing" in order to not get censored or outright harassed.

[–]63daddy 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Good points. Hopefully the free speech platforms will rise and become predominant. I fear all that will happen however is those censored in mainstream media will go to the free speech sites and each will become an echo chamber of like minded individuals, the mainstream sites still predominating.

That’s one thing I don’t like about Reddit. The feminist forum clearly says only information from a feminist perspective is allowed. The men’s rights is less prohibitive, but it’s still mostly one sided. Echo chambers that only give one view dint accomplish much.

Very true. Young people don't realize how much reddit has changed over the years. I came to reddit when it was in its early years. Back then it was digg and reddit showed up later on to compete with digg. Reddit back then was much different, it was actually a place where you could discuss with people of the opposite opinion and actually talk about issues. People were more respectable and had more manners online. I guess because people on reddit almost viewed it like big happy family. All of that is gone now. You can't discuss anything with opposing viewpoints because the mods just permaban you from the sub.

A new reddit-like social media could probably be created but the mods need to actually moderate to encourage dialogue.

Take your subs like TwoX, Feminism, etc.

Look at the amount of [Deleted] compared to discussions/debates in men's rights.

It isn't even close.

[–]geekie30 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Frankly no problem with me there, but where to ?

I like to lurk here and gather sources for various infos, I'd do that anywhere it's possible, but, yeah... Don't know where to go.

A lot have moved onto dot win, gab and ruqqus

[–]AggressiveProblem654 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

communities dot win

[–]Abstract_Knight 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The worst of it is technically the male rights are "left wing".

[–]AggressiveProblem654 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. That's the biggest irony of it. Really shows how far reddit has fallen into the abyss.

[–]azzclapz 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not even subtle anymore. Anything that highlights men's issues or is critical of women is punished on Reddit. I have a hunch even this subreddit will be quarantined and banned soon enough. Any men's space is either intruded upon or shut down under the guise of misogyny, hate, or some other nonsense. Feminists and misandrists simply can't let men be to focus on themselves. Heck even saying the word misandry gets you labeled as a misogynist, because no one takes men's issues seriously. Feminism is for everyone my ass. Meanwhile women centric man hating subs like /femaledatingstrategy aren't even quarantined and allowed to go on spreading their hate.

[–]AggressiveProblem654 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, I'm sure. If you go to againsthatesubreddits group, you can see people there making posts about us. Thankfully there are groups on communities dot win we can go to if this sub gets quarantined. Remember, no sub has ever been removed from quarantine status.

[–]simonoptera 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I got banned from a sub yesterday for calling out some mild sexism against men. Nobody even really tried arguing against the points I made except for one woman who sadly lacked the brainpower to do so effectively.

Whenever you get banned, muted etc. for pointing this stuff out the other person is effectively saying they don't have any valid counterpoints, but they just don't like what you're saying.

[–]AggressiveProblem654 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sounds about right. It just shows how biased reddit is. Go make an account at communities dot win if you haven't already.

They are fucking idiots

[–]AggressiveProblem654 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most of reddit is compromised by leftists if you haven't figured that out yet. Thankfully, there are still other websites you can go do that is not controlled like reddit.

"Reported as a POTENTIAL TROLL ....."

Potential? Based on what? That it's simply a man bringing the issue? Wow.

[–]macrotransactions 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Reddit was always a shithole for political discussion because they want it to be a lefty circlejerk.

Expect a ban for this sub. All criticism we do is "hate" while they calling us incels and other insults is fine.

[–]NorthHelicopter- 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Their warped sexist view that men can never face a single problem in their lives is bad to the extent they are willing to prioritize ideology over helping someone.

[–]Reaper621 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's r/legaladvice, it's not like a ton of actual lawyers reside there. You're not missing much.

When I was 18 I used to wonder why so many suicides were men. Now I am 25 and completely understand. It’s like society just wants to beat the fuck out of us and if we talk about it, we are the assholes or man babies.

I don’t know when there will be a revolution, but if it starts I’m joining in because this shit of “I hate all men” is getting real old.

Tweet with me to seek justice:

Hi @abaesq @reddit's /r/legaladvice, in theory run by your members, is censoring requests for help from victims of discrimination due to their sex. May violate Rule 4.1 Truthfulness in Statements to Others, because their bigotry is hidden #Lawyers https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/pkd2i5/man_posts_about_being_discriminated_during_a/

End.
