Hello Men and women of Mensrights. I am an avid reader and commenter in this sub and have been for over a year. I pride myself on being a MRA and a true egalitarian. I am currently in a bit of a pickle.

I am a drug and alcohol counselor in Southwest Washington. I currently have a male patient who is living in a violent relationship with an actively using heroin addict. To make things even more complicated she is currently under 18. He doesn't want to leave her for all the normal reasons abuse victims want to stay in a relationship, as well as he is very attached to her child. We have scant resources for men in this area. The only real DV resources for anyone are YWCA and the Emergency Support Shelter. Both of these orginizations use gender neutral language, but I do fear that is not really accurate in their beliefs, especially when YWCA website lists 85% of DV is perpetrated against women and only 15% against men. At least theya cknowledge it happens to men, but that could be a whole lot more accurate.

Anyway, I am looking for good resources for a man in a domestic violence situation, either national or Local to Southwest Washington. Any websites, hotlines, or shelters that are geared toward male victims would be amazing. I don't want to send this guy someplace just to have him forced to speak with a woman, which is really his worst fear when it comes to the embarrassment and shame he is feeling about being abused.

So, r/mensrights, where would you send this young man to get the help he needs and deserves? How can he protect himself from false allegations if she does start throwing them around when he leaves? Washington is a 2-party recording state so recording conversations is out of the question. Thank you so much for your help.
