Now there are literally hundreds of #metoo worthy experiences I have had, women feel entirely welcome to just randomly grab my ass or my unit, it happens all the time, but honestly only a handful that approach rape or that leave me feeling unclean or misused in some way.

Heres a story from sometime in the early 90s when I was in my early 20s.

I used to frequent a coffee shop here in town, it was a dive. Tons of kids that no one loved or cared about but who had not givin in completely to drugs and apathy, siting around drinking coffee and trying to act sophisticated.

I met a man there, he went by a nick name and I do not know his real name, I'll call him Bubba. Now Bubba was a big hillbilly lookin guy in his 30s who had a crazy look in his eye, there was obviously something wrong with him but he hung out there with us and he wrote poetry. Sometime I found out he was in the state hospital and I went to visit him - I was the only visitor he had gotten and he was happy to see me, I hoped he would get better and get back to the coffee and poetry.

Well i found out a few months after that that he was out, and where he was staying, so I went to find him.

It was a slum, real real bad, filthy. He was there, stoned out of his mind. There were various pill bottles scattered about, his meds from the hospital, there were other people there who he had been sharing his meds with.

One of the people was this middle aged prostitute who's name i never got, as i was trying to talk to Bubba and ask him about his poetry she knelt in front of me tore open my pants and began to give me an aggressive rapid, almost violent blow job.

It was like when the homeless guys run up to your car and 'wash' the windshield.

I guess i was not supposed to notice she had taken my wallet out of my pocket, I just watched, bemused. After only a few seconds, maybe 20 seconds, I kicked her away and snatched my wallet back.

she was afraid and she ran out the window, this place was ground level, she ran out the window and around to the back of the building in her filthy underpants.

I would like to see more men post #metoo experiences.

All people get harassed no matter gender. We need to teach boys that they should speak up if someone tried to coerce them into something they don't want.

You’re not wrong, but society has made it pretty clear it doesn’t want to hear this from boys and men.

I'd rather not. I don't think coercion is as big a deal as people make it out to be, and I don't want to give fuel to the fire.

I was molested. I moved on, because I'm not a victim. They were unpleasant experiences that don't even rank in my top five unpleasant experiences.

I hate how fixated people are on sexual assault. The more lip service you give it, the more power you give it. It was something that happened, and it doesn't define me in the slightest. I don't want pity points for it, and it wasn't anywhere near as big a deal as outspoken victims of similar situations make it out to be.

If you need help to move on, get help, but don't dwell in it, and don't make it a part of your identity. If you teach yourself to be a victim, that's all you'll ever be.

For the most part, I agree with what you're trying to say. It would be helpful if more men spoke up about their experiences, but I don't want anyone to feel forced to talk about their #metoo experiences.

I noticed that some of the men who posted #metoo on Twitter felt slightly uncomfortable because they didn't know if their experience counted or if the hashtag could only be used by women. That's something I want to have change. I want the #metoo discussion to be a time for any person to share their experiences without feeling ashamed or ostracized. A way to connect with others.

Anywho, that's just how I view it. Looking at the other comments, I can understand why people have differing views.

I was watching a news clip about #metoo and they literally said "Men are getting involved to be saying they will do better" WTF!

No. Rather the #metoo tag should be used to call out false accusations.

Just going by what makes it to the mainstream media, the majority of accusations are false.

And in particular, regarding the Harvey claims, most women (and men) decided that they would prefer to take the job with Harvey, instead of some other job, and embrace the "abuse". So they have to own that. Coming out against Harvey now is an attempt at covering their ass, ironically.

Often the #metoo for men are false accusations of sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment is about power “over” someone - not sex.
