The problem in progressive reasoning reveals itself even in the few comments already in the thread.

We are told that nothing counts as evidence against rape. Nothing. I accept that some people stay with their abusers, I do. I don't have to be able to personally relate to someone's behavior to accept the data that it does, in fact, happen. But if someone voluntarily continuing a relationship with a person after an alleged rape is not evidence against said rape, then I have no idea how any system of criminal or civil culpability is supposed to function.

She continued to date him. That's not like continuing to be friends or colleagues with someone. It means that she continued to make herself vulnerable to him, to be naked with him alone in a locked room. It means she slept with her back to him and continued her productive and successful career. I wonder what their emails are like. I wonder if they ever sent explicit text messages to one another. I wonder if she told him she loved him. I wonder if she trusted him enough to share secrets and gossip with him. And none of this counts as evidence against her claim. There can be no burden of proof when the ideology admits of no proof!

I accept that these things happen. If I had a daughter I would drill it into her head that she should report any violation. The concept of 'rape culture' lays the blame at the wrong feet. If it's a cultural problem and not an individual one, that means that normal guys commit rape. It means that rape can be committed accidentally and that it can be trained out of people. It means that rape can be forgiven. I would make sure that my daughter understood that rape is not normal, good men don't commit rape, rape is not an accident, and above all it cannot be forgiven. But feminists are insisting, at full volume and in every single major media outlet, that they do not want real justice. They want to have their irrational and self-destructive choices given credit and praise rather than understanding and sympathy.

Let's make this really easy. If she believes that she raped him, she can start by quitting her job. Seriously, a self-admitted rapist on the editorial board of the New York Times? What's next, a genocial maniac? Oh. After she quits her job, she should take herself down to the police station, file a police report, go directly to jail, do not pass go. If she fails to do any of those things, this is just some kind of brainwashing.
