I've seen this a few times over the past few days in this subreddit when talking about things women can do to make themselves safer when drinking. As a member of a fraternity we would ban people from our parties if they ever took advantage of a girl that was passed out and he was of sound mind. If both of them were shit faced we would try and stop the guy from making a mistake and alert the girls friends that it was time for her to go home. I know the actions of my fraternity may not match the actions of others, but it's one of those things that gets under my skin every time I hear it.

I just feel that instead of saying 'don't get drunk and pass out at a frat house' the real advice should be 'don't get drunk and pass out at a strangers house' or 'don't drink beyond your limit.' By making fraternity boys the poster child of rape through these statements you tarnish the reputation of men that join fraternities and haven't done anything wrong and make your arguments so specific that it ruins the goal of the argument of steps one could take to decrease the opportunity to be raped.

This is just a personal request, and I've known this subreddit to be fairly open minded with issues like this. Though, I do understand if there are reasons why you continue to post comments like this.
