I made this post in response to a video showing a woman attacking a man in Washington. The comment's score has been acting very funny, modulating between 0 and +2 the entire time, changing every time I refresh my browser erven if I do that every second. I have to think this is some sort of post manipulation by a bot at this point, its not a very high ranked comment and the video that the comment is about has been pulled from youtube, but the score keeps fluctuating every second. I added RES to check this out further and it confirmed that while the score keeps fluctuating very few new people are voting on it, in the time I've been paying attention the total people voting on my comment has only increased by a few.

What would the effect of a reddit bot that constantly voted up a comment and then removed the upvote be to the comments ranking so that the comment was always fluctuating from zero to +3?

I know this isn't a MRM issue exactly but I am interested in what someones motivation for doing this would be and whether it has a net positive or net negative or neutral bearing on a comments visibility.

Thanks.
