FYI, "liberal" is not a term to describe economic policies, and "conservative" is not a term to describe social policies.

"All right" is not the correct term - it is "alright".

Is it all right if a female holds a male down and physically forces him to have sex if he is going to and then changes her mind?

I apologize for any confusion this caused, but I was concerned about the potential of one condition inflicting undue influence upon the other (that is, changing answers in one or both conditions).

Interesting thread but I'm a little suspicious. Is it normal to find research participants on men's rights sites? Sounds like this study and others like them could easily get any answer they like by just recruiting subjects on a suitable website.

Also, I think the questions I've seen can lead to answers that can be misinterpreted by the researchers. Over the last few days, I've seen a statistic bandied about that "48% of Canadian men ages 18-25 don't think that having sex with an unconscious woman is rape" or something similar. They might have said it wasn't rape when answering a specific question on a survey but that doesn't mean they think it's OK to have sex with that woman, or that they ever would. They might just not think it's "rape".

Likewise, some people might think that lying about birth control isn't rape. But that doesn't mean they think it's OK or that they'd ever do it. They just call it something else other than "rape".

"Thank you for your participation in this study. The goal of this study was to examine beliefs tied to a few social movements such as masculism and feminism. Some participants were given the definitions of these two social movements as to see if these definitions significantly influenced whether or not they would identify with said social groups. All participants then completed a scale designed to measure their belief in a just world, that is, how fair the world and the society are. The researcher believes that these beliefs may significantly predict if a participant identifies with feminism, masculism, or other social movements. You then completed the Buss-Perry Hostility subscale. This subscale is designed to create a score that represents how hostile any individual may be. Furthermore, all participants rated the acceptability of various rape myths. These myths are ALL unacceptable. The section of the survey detailing an organization called "The Organization for Human Equality" was also fake. This organization does not exist, and was created for the sole reason of examining the willingness of participants to engage in social movements outside of those that are already established. If this survey upset you, and you would like to seek counseling, please call this counseling center to seek help: 319-273-2676.
