So you realize that feminists are trying to spread misinformation and claim that feminism not only equals gender equality, but that it is the only avenue towards achieving gender equality. You recognize that this is a lie and that they are waging a war of propaganda in order to slander Men's Rights Activists.

And yet you think we should be trying to establish common ground with them? Why?

people tried this in /r/equality. it's long been abandoned by any mras, as I recall.

Listen, for the millionth time there is no middle ground between feminism and equality. Feminists are against mens rights, full stop, anything they say to the contrary is nothing but words. Their actions are always hostile to mens rights. We are not pandering to feminists so they will let us fight for our rights, they aren't going to let you do anything but submit to their self interest.

It's hard to debate with an opposing party that views your entire gender as part of very big and very bad problem. It's hard when the opposing party also constantly makes a strawman of your argument so they can happily stab it down.

It's like a gay man trying to find common ground with a pastor that views him as sub-human and already has a million reasons to dismiss his humanity on the grounds of some overarching belief structure, and then saying if we want to legalize gay marriage we also want to legalize marriage to children and animals.

They make it impossible for debate, because they don't practice debate, they just practice smearing their opponents.

It would be nice to see that kind of conversation happen, however, but I can't see hard-line feminists willing to take that kind of conversation seriously. What would be nice is if /r/egalitarianism became more active. It's already a neutral ground for this type of conversation to take place, right?
