If I were in the market, I'd avoid OKCupid because in 2014 they wanted people to boycott Firefox because the former CEO of Firefox donated to the California Prop. 8 campaign. The CEO was then fired. If they want to be SJW's and get people fired for perfectly lawful activity, they should pay the price.

This morning I awoke to a feminist inspired political message from OKCupid. While it was entirely passive-aggressive the subtext could not be more clear and duplicitous when you consider their entire business model is based on the very thing they are bemoaning:

At OkCupid, we believe that judging others based on their sex, religion, country of origin, or orientation is un-American. There is no room for intolerance.

Instead, we’ve celebrated individuality in all its various forms since we were founded. Our users live in 214 countries around the world. They identify as 22 genders and 13 orientations. They are Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists, Buddhists and Agnostics.

We strongly believe that America’s history of welcoming others not only represents the best of American values, but it also defines the core of what has made our country the great place it is, and has been. Love, not hate, is the solution.

OkCupid is open to all individuals. Thanks for making OkCupid a welcoming place.

Like Paul Elam I believe that most men will find themselves happiest in a committed pair-bond and am at the moment the most reluctant of MGTOWs. But I will not support a company that insists on using "their" in place of "he" or "she" (irony meter, I want to be referred to as "he" and only want to date people who want to be referred to as "she" but they refer to me as "their"). I especially don't want to support feminist religious zealots who claim to be open while raking in money by allowing their users (and advertisers) to do that very thing en mass.

"Their" is gender neutral, inclusive and absolutely the correct pronoun to use when addressing a group of more than one gender. I can't see anything wrong with "their", message apart from the slightly wacky 22 genders comment.

I think you either have the wrong sub or are a concern troll.

You had to dig really deep to find something (not even related to the primary reason I posted) to come at me with. You clearly are running low on TrollSauce.

I am guessing you do not use OKC; you just like to find small "flaws" in other people and boost yourself up. So allow me to try to explain it to you. When a person visits your profile OKC sends a message saying "they are really interested in you". Not "they - like all women" but "they - like this one particular woman". It isn't correct usage.

But to this subpoint. The SJW stance is that people should use the pronouns that the person prefers. I prefer to be referred to as "him" and yet OKC sends messages (well they did, account deleted) specifically referring to me as "they". I only point it out to doubly underscore the company's hypocrisy.

You may resume your normal Trolling.

"The Men's Rights subreddit is a place for those who wish to discuss men's rights and the ways said rights are infringed upon."

Please explain what anything you said above has to do with the rights of men?

An example of infringing on the rights of men would be Okcupid charging men more for using the website or something discriminatory. This is not that.

Ok, keep your account. Your opinion that my post is not in the spirit of this sub is noted; and dismissed. My posting is well within the bounds of what is typically discussed here.

The email I received is representative of feminist double-think and is representative of the feminist backlash against President Trump's election. There was a very recent thread which was stickied to the front page for more than a week calling for activism. I am simply responding to that thread with a call to action against a company I feel it too representative of the SWJ/Feminist propaganda machine.

You are, of course, free to feel otherwise.

they

Ya the plural use of pronouns is confusing.

You are looking for ONE woman not they's.

I was taught to use: him - her and he and she

and I'm too old to keep changing to all latest childish whims.

:/

I'm a non native speaker and am used to a pronoun that's gender neutral, so I use 'they' quite liberally as I learned that you could use it that way. Is it really a feminist thing? 'He or she' is just such a mouthful, and sometimes I don't want to disclose gender. Are there any alternatives?
