If you immolate yourself, it'll only hurt you for about the first minute as that's how long it will take the nerves that transmit pain to die. Your kid, however, will hurt for the rest of his or her life.

In the long run, her yearbook pictures and a trip to Disney is going to mean diddly squat to her. But if you REALLY want to fuck her up, then suicide's a good way to do it. Hell, I can practically see the conversation at your funeral now:
Someone you probably hate, providing false comfort to your daughter: "So, why'd your old man off himself?" Your daughter: "Because I couldn't go to Disney."
Everyone who is, was, or might have been on your side: "Wow, [OP's Ex], you were totally right when you said he was violent and crazy. And here I thought you were just being an unfair bitch to a relatively decent guy."
I'm not saying your pain is trivial or irrelevant. I am saying that some photos and a field trip aren't worth this level of self-destruction. If the photos and the field-trip mean that much to your daughter, sit her down and explain the situation with the money shortage. Teach her the value of money, teach her self-reliance, and suggest that she get a weekend job so that she has her own money in the future to fall back on if a similar financial situation arises.

No problem. I'd suggest not putting all of your eggs in one basket, though. Still suggest to your daughter that she get a weekend/part-time job to help mitigate future downturns in your financial fortunes, keep looking for work (even if you already have a job; you may just find a better paying one), and keep your head up.
Oh, and make sure to keep posting links to your FundRazr. Maybe contact Daddy Justice and see if he can point you in the direction, or reach out to the AVfM forums and see if anyone can help you. Don't expect to simply get someone else do it for you though; folks are more open to teaching than they are to simply doing another person's work.

Do not commit suicide. More than thirty years ago was, one of my best friends was on the verge of suicide. He was probably only saved by a call to The Samaritans. Today, he is a happy and fulfilled man. Please call The Samaritans, or another support group and talk to them.

I am glad to still see you posting. Many of us have been through hard times, many more with same situations. I do not know much about helping those who are having harmful thoughts. I cannot do much, I don't know much about child support. Venting is good sometimes. I will suggest for a mod to remove this thread if you like. Tonight you are in my prayers and will be till a see a message stating your feeling or doing better. All love for my fellow man.
