As per my name, this is a temporary account. I set it up so that none if it could truly be traced back, obviously. Not a man but I want to rant to r/mensrights and I want some feed back. I feel this is the right community for my story.

Don't start thinking that this is about their orientation, it isn't. Here's the scoop: My father and his partner "Ricky" work at a fairly large university. Ricky's field is still mostly male dominated however there are many intelligent females employed. Lately one employee, a female who also earned her ph.d. from the same school, was up for tenure. Now this lady has been sleeping with the head of the department for a long while, despite both being married. She also never does research, does not attend seminars or conferences, and doesn't socialize. Which is odd because everyone in this department is friendly.

This lady was up for tenure but did not do the work required. She turned in a half-assed, sloppy portfolio which was mostly uncompleted. She also was late for turning that in. So with her history of doing nothing, the department voted not to give her tenure. She threw a hissy fit and called a lawyer and filed sexual discrimination charges claiming that the men (like my father's partner...c'mon) made it a hostile work environment for her. This same lady who locked herself in the office and wouldn't even give students visiting rights claimed the men were too sexist (But even the other women voted her out)!

The chair pulled some strings and the university dropped the fight and gave her tenure and no one can say anything about this period whatsoever. Reddit, I am a female and as a female this makes me rage. I am foaming. My dad is upset for Ricky and Ricky is just upset. How awkward and shameful it must be that this lady can walk around the halls and thumb her nose at people knowing they cannot do a damned thing about it! I told Ricky that the university, for many reasons, is going down the toilet and he ought to jump ship. He is close to retiring...

What are your thoughts? Is there anything the men (and handful of women) can do to fight back for their rights? Boy I wish I could say something to her but it's confidential. Thanks for understanding and listening.
