Should Alimony Be Banned?

Alimony should be banned in a lot of situations. If the wife actually contributed to the marriage by stopping her career to raise children then alimony is ok but if she contributed nothing then theres no point of it.

Of all the divorced people I know, only one receives alamony. She put her husband through medical school and then left the work force after he was finished to raise their children. I think it's fair that she get it a number of years after divorcing.
