Sadly, some mothers consider the sons to be an extension of themselves. Others might call that "property", but hey... What do I know?

Sounds like slavery but with extra steps

This is going to sound crazy. I have scrolled past this three times today and for some reason this dumb meme got through to me more than any other post about circumcision.

Yeah I get it. Overused meme. Doesn't mean the hypocrisy doesn't exist.

I mean "got me" in a I need to rethink my own hypocrisy way. Like it suddenly just clicked (I am a woman).

Oh I'm sorry! I read it as sarcasm initially 😅 Yes, I mean in my opinion, I understand the "my body, my choice" argument, which is why I don't understand how some people still don't apply that in all aspects. I don't think circumcision should be illegal, i just think that it's important to at least give them a chance to make that decision for themselves. If you're an adult and decide to have the procedure, or there is a rare medical emergency, then absolutely go for it!

Totally fine! I get how it could have been read like that. I say "my body my choice" about a lot of things, but I am pretty new to the circumcision debate (live in the US) and there is so much information our there that it is kinda overwhelming. Sometimes seeing it simply make it clearer!

Unless he's a clone I'm pretty sure that most parts of his body won't look like yours.
I'm circumcised but chose to break the cycle with my two sons and did not circumcise them. They are both now adults and could have chosen to circumcise themselves anytime they liked over the last 20 years of their adulthood. They choose to remain intact.
Why is anyone obsessed over having their genitals looking the same as one of their parents ?
Never once did my sons say they felt awkward in my presence because I'm circumcised and they are not. I've asked them both on a few occasions when they reached adulthood and they both say it is a complete non issue.
I find it particularly ridiculous and offensive to hear women say they will get their sons circumcised because they prefer the look of a circumcised penis. WOMEN, you need to understand, you are not going to have sex with your sons, so knock off the visual preference BS. And if you do have sex with your sons you need to see a psychiatrist and spend some time in jail.

I'm a woman who did not want to circumcise my son, but his dad felt very differently. I ultimately let him have it done but I still feel guilty about it, even though it did not bother little dude at the time and it healed really quickly. I literally sit and worry sometimes that when he gets older he will be angry with us for doing it. I feel like I failed to protect him on that, but I am not a man and I don't know what it is like to have a penis, so I had to trust his dads opinion.

My body, my choice, and my sons body, my sons choice. It’s not either or...

Pretty sure the Venn Diagram of People Who Are Pro Choice and People Who Are Pro Circumcision doesn't connect lol.
