I usually just lurk here, but I thought I'd share a somewhat funny story from last night.

After leaving the gym, I headed to my local liquor store to buy a bottle. I threw my wallet, cell phone, keys, sunglasses...etc into my Nike drawstring bag. Upon entering the store, the lady at the front counter stopped me.

"Bag needs to stay up here honey".

As I walked up to the counter I asked, "So do you do this for purses as well?"

She replied hesitantly, "Umm...well...no, but it's our store policy".

I, being somewhat of a smartass, said, "Yeah I didn't think so".

After that, I purchased my bottle and went on my way. I was slightly miffed at the double standard going on there. I just wonder what it would have been like if a man was at the counter and asked a woman to leave her purse up front.

Thoughts?
