This is a good excuse to share the scene from Swing Time where Fred Astaire plays Peter Peters from Philadelphia PA pretending to be Petrov, a Russian ballet dancer

Ballet dancing, and the kind of tap dancing that Astaire and Rogers transition into, is sex-differentiated. The man leads the woman, the man lifts the woman.

It would be unacceptably sexist by today's PC standards if it wasn't for the fact that since the 1960s, young people aren't taught formal dancing in boy-girl couples, and heterosexual boys have abandoned dance to gays and girls. So schemes to encourage boys to take up ballet fly under the PC radar because female supremacists believe that ballet will get boys in touch with their feminine side.

On the contrary - learning ballet will teach boys their masculine side in a way that no other activity permits any more. Feminist propaganda films like Billy Elliott depict traditionalist men whose masculinity is threatened when their sons take up ballet. They had hoped to bring their son down to the local rugby club to make a man of him, only for the pansy to take up dancing. But the local rugby club these days has girls' teams as well as boys' teams, and probably mixed teams up to puberty. Boys are not encouraged to feel like men when they step out on the rugby field. The clubs put on toxic masculinity workshops to deal with that kind of attitude. These days, the priority is to encourage girl-power. But strangely enough, boys might be encouraged to feel like men when they lace up a pair of ballet shoes.

As appealing as ballet can be, I have to say that rather than encouraging boys, we should be discouraging everyone.

It's not good for the feet.

I think this is great. It doesn't seem pertinent to men's rights.
