I finished watching this show in high school. I used to watch it for all the adult jokes,because I was young back then. Now that I see Alan paying child support and alimony to his ex-wife,it feels so realistic. It was a proper representation of how the family courts screw over the men in divorces. So today,I was watching this episode where Judith makes Alan pay for Jake's class trips and shoes, despite him paying the child support and alimony. So Charlie makes a clever remark. Here it goes:

Charlie : Alan, you're like an Alzheimer's victim in a whorehouse.

Alan : Excuse me?

Charlie : You're constantly surprised when you've been screwed... and you don't want to pay for it!
