I find this ironic considering some women will get drunk before they go out. Get black out drunk at a club and blame some some guy. Completely ignoring their own behavior that maybe it’s because they’re an alcoholic. Either way, it will just make a lot of men not even bother going to clubs and just go to bars. So it will impact these night club businesses more than anything.

It's so frustrating to read so many threads on women's subreddits where a woman just states that "my drink was spiked" or "I was roofied" and just state it as a fact with no evidence. Unless they've had a toxicology test to verify that, I just assume they over-indulged.

I'm sure spiking of drinks does happen. And some people may even have tried injectable drugs (logistics of that aside).

But if you suspect either you really should get a tox screen, you dint know what shit is in there. And there should still be some traces of it.

With injection you really should do that, and follow needlestick protocol, with the antivirals and follow up tests for Hepatitus-C. There are things that are contagious as all get out you want to take care of. And the likelyhood of a jerk using sterile needles is next to zero.

To bad these types of police reports when they exist are usually kept confidential so that the public can't properly evaluate and protect themselves from the risk.

Also how out of it do you have to be to not notice a ham fisted idiot sticking you with a needle, and injecting a non trivial amount of fluid? I feel quite actutely both actions even with small subcutaneous injections, by trained professionals who know how to do it.

The media has helped perpetuate this spiking 'epidemic'. There are a few high profile cases of 'injection spiking' that are completely invented. One such bikini clad, reality TV show contestant has milked her fake story in the press and had even appeared on breakfast TV repeating her b/s. Completely shameless. . It is sickening to watch her relishing the attention she has got from being a 'victim' - or 'doing a Jussie' as they now say. She now wants to 'raise awareness' and 'help the govt fight spiking' (of course she does!) - despite the authorities having disproved the claims. Anyone with a brain might stop and think it odd that with all these hundreds of reports of spiking, no assaults were reported. The real story is this inept bunch of spikers, haha. I think the obvious lies, and vague accounts spur on others (young women especially) to make up their own victimhood tale of spiking. It sounds better than 'I got so drunk last night I got kicked out'. Now you can turn that around to 'I was spiked, but no one believed me, the police, the paramedics, the NHS, they must hate women'. It's a narrative that a certain demographic LOVE to hear, whether they know it's a lie or not. The 'journalists' that support the likes of this reality TV 'star' with their softball questions are just as much to blame. 'I had been drinking all day, but was completely sober! I know my limits, so I MUST have been spiked!!'. Ah. Ok.
