I was circumcised as a baby and every time I think about it I get incredibly pissed.

It's immensely difficult for me to reconcile the fact that my parents love me and yet would do something so stupid.

They acted in ignorance, sure, and there is no way I can change what happened. In every other area of my life they have been smart and supportive. Yet I'm still livid that they had to be stupid about this one thing.

This one very important permanent thing.

Like, of all the bandwagons you could have jumped on, mom and dad, it had to be the one that involved removing part of my dick before I knew how to say the word "No," and before I could even remember anything.

Really?

Now when I hear you say you love me, it feels like you're saying it out of habit or compulsion, not because you choose to say it.

If you loved me, how could you be so stupid?

I'm ashamed of what you did to me. I hate it and I hope nobody has to go through this barbaric ritual in the future.

I just needed to vent.
