Aye, as OP, I too agree with the comic but I think there's a double lesson in it. We need to keep track of the radicals tharmt claims to fight on behalf of the MRA so that we don't suffer the same fate.

Very relevant. Most of the debates I have with feminists these days boil down to "they're not real feminists," (referring to radfems). Whitewashing is bad no matter how right a cause is.

I agree, the comic is right.

Perhaps the issue here is that some people think "radical" is synonymous with "extreme." This isn't true.

In the context of feminism, "Radical Feminism" (Radical Second Wave Feminism) is a specific ideology with a specific set of beliefs. It is a matter of accepting certain propositions, not a matter of "extremism" (however defined).

Radical Feminism doesn't mean being in the top 5% of the bell-curve of level-of-misandry-within-each-feminist.

And guess what? Radical Second Wave Feminism is immensely influential on the feminist movement. Third Wave Feminism is just a watered-down Radical Second Wave Feminism. The vast majority of "official" feminists are thus either R2W or their intellectual descendents (3W).

So yes, there is no contradiction between "there are relative extremists in every group" and "there are heaps of radical feminists." Radical Feminism isn't about relative extremism but about one's beliefs.
