There is a lot of information here that I did not know about the Lavinia Woodward case. (She is the person who stabbed her boyfriend and was spared a gaol sentence because she was a medical student.) For example, she also broke her bail conditions during the trial.

Although I was previously aware that she also had a drug addiction, this significance of that in the context of her trying to become a doctor had escaped me.
