I remember a car advertising hoarding for Fiat, years ago and it had a black and white photo of a man in jeans (shown from the shoulders down) doubled over, clutching his crotch apparently in pain and the strapline was "Next time ask...".

The theory being that the Fiat Punto was a car that women would buy but was so good to drive male partners might borrow it without asking first.

So implicit in that, was that striking your male partner very painfully in the genitals is funny and acceptable behaviour.

Perhaps they could have run an advert showing a woman similarly doubled over in agony with the same strapline...?

I think at the time there was some muted criticism of the advert in the UK.

They also used to run a Fiat Punto advert on TV where the woman is driving and they pull into a petrol (gas) station and he's fast asleep. So she turns the steering wheel sharply and he strikes his head hard against the side window and wakes up. Would this be acceptable if the driver had been male and the passenger female? I suspect not.

FIAT = fix it again, Tony. Garbage in, garbage out?

[–]Imnotmrabut 25 points26 points27 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Gyno-giggling - only funny when women do it.

[–]JoeBender1 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I must admit. "Gyno-Giggling" is a new term to me.

[–]Imnotmrabut 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd better get it trademarked quickly then, before some recessive comedienne takes it over and perverts it.

Don't let Kate Smurthwaite know.

Warning, second picture may contain cunts.

[–]feedmecarrots 37 points38 points39 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is only funny when women do it to men.

[–]RickeySanchez 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

They made a movie about that, the guys all got arrested and charged

[–]hottake_toothache 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Details please.

[–]RickeySanchez 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Googled it, its called Audrie & Daisy. Its on Netflix if you're interested. There's a few people who's stories are covered, but the one that relates to this picture is the main one.

[–]hottake_toothache 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks.

[–]mc-minerva 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude he took his shoes off before he passed out. He didn't break any party rules so should not have been drawn on.... What a bunch of cunts, would put all Thier Twitter accounts on separate Craigslist posts with Thier phone numbers

For a similar exercise (for those into manga), try to imagine a completely genderflipped version of Ranma 1/2 or similar manga.

The thing is, with most genderflips, the doublestandard they reveal are not in favor of men.

[–]mcavvacm 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You mean it's not normal for women to beat males protagonists into an early grave?

[–]TheSummerain 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well apparently they apologized to him and they are all good now.

Of course her reply was "Bitch you asked for it with that nice ass bum"

She best remember that line for the future when some one does something to her.

What in the absolute fuckitty frickity frack is this....? People kill for lesser things, holy shit.

[–]Jamesfm007 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And in either situation, I would ask why the 'victim' would be so trusting. This is less a feminist or men's rights issue than people simply being stupid.

Regardless of sex, creed, race, etc., this is unacceptable social behavior.

[+]Keddril points 9 years ago* [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Imagine that these people might be friends and he's totally cool with it and you all have zero context.

No no.. that's crazy. Please let's keep talking about how womynz are the wurst.

[+]AiogbZuyzn points 9 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not about the "womynz being the wurst", it's about the double standard.

With or without context, an image like but gender reversed would create a lot more outrage.

[–]bufedad 20 points21 points22 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Undressing part of his body and posting pictures to the internet without his consent?

It doesn't matter what he feels about that after the fact. That's deplorable behavior. It's despicable.

[–]lukie95 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If it were flipped, you wouldn't be asking 'imagine if they're friends and she's totally cool with it.' That line of thinking has no place, when there's no context, you don't make up context that makes it okay. People would be demanding that these molesters be sent to prison and placed on a sex offender registry for the rest of their lives. Like the other guy said, we're not against women's rights, we just want equality and for people to realize how hypocritical situations like these are. Should these women be placed on a sex offender registry? In my opinion yes, but it's up to the guy if he wanted to press charges. Shit like this has to stop and people like you have to stop defending it if we want to address and try to fix the issues that men face.

[–]TheSummerain 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not very smart women with thier twitter tags all clearly visible there.

[–]Elvick 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your original point was a "what if" so your snarky edit is a little ridiculous.

"What if they're friends and he's okay with it".

[–]Keddril-2 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I said I was committed now and that I've seen the light. Maybe my commitment was more internalised than I originally suspected.

[–]Luchadorgreen 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point, because being unconscious means giving default consent! I mean that's basically what you're suggesting here.

[+]fabhellier -18 points-17 points-16 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, I'd count myself lucky if I found myself in a bedroom with girls that hot.

[–]suddenlysnowedinn 16 points17 points18 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Hey everyone! Come see how beta I am!"

[–]fabhellier -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't think they're hot?

[–]TheSummerain 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Why would you allow something like that to happen to you for a little attention from attractive females.

That attitude is part of the problem and teaches girls there are no consequences for their actions.

[–]fabhellier -4 points-3 points-2 points 9 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn't. I said I'd count myself lucky to find myself in a room with them. Don't much fancy what the guy in the photo went through.

[–]Elvick 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I said I'd count myself lucky to find myself in a room with them

That's fairly sad.

[–]fabhellier -2 points-1 points0 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Why? They're hot!

[–]gazork_chumble_spuzz 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But they're obviously not great at being human beings. They wrote on a guy's ass while he was unconscious, photographed his bare ass, and then posted that photo online. If that isn't an ugly thing to do to someone, I don't know what is. The fact that they're hot doesn't make it any less repugnant. If this was a girl we'd be talking about how rapey it was. It's not better just because he's a dude and they're pretty.

Don't be so desperate for female attention that you put up with abusive shit or chase stupid, useless girls to get it. Life's too short for that.

[–]TheSummerain 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Because you would allow yourself to be degraded like this just for a little attention from attractive females. You sound like you lack self respect.

[–]fabhellier 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I have much self respect. I just think they're hot as fuck.

[–]TheSummerain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am assuming you are younger and closer in age to the individuals in the picture. If I was that age again I would probably think like you do about it.

"Hot as Fuck" guys though would never be able to get away with this.

[–]fabhellier 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm 26. Have a girlfriend who I love.

I still think they're hot as fuck. I mean, you're right, there's a double standard. But still. Can't help my biology.

[–]TheSummerain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I still think they're hot as fuck. I mean, you're right, there's a double standard. But still. Can't help my biology.

Thinking with the wrong head...LOL.

I see those girls and just think that could be My son and that if that was my daughter she just fucked herself over by putting her twitter handle on his ass and posted it online. I would hang my head in shame at the stupidity of the daughter I raised.
