I like how they said they aren't allowed to discuss TF since it doesn't impact men (even though it totally does) but they have precisely zero issue with female feminists constantly railing against masculinity being toxic.

Women are free to shit on men.

Men are obliged to shit on men.

Women are perfect and must never be criticized.

There, men are now liberated. Somehow.

Menslib is an echo chamber.

They are know to sidebar posts with bad math. When commenters point out the bad math. They delete the comments.

Check out their accepting and embracing attitude towards female on male rape:

There is a post up now saying we should teach boys how not to rape and girls what to watch out for if a man is about to rape them. The mods are shutting down any one who asks about male victims or female rapists.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's the same monolithic culture as feminism that has complete control over all public universities in the western world. They are literally unable to see outside of a women/good versus men/bad context on any given issue.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

They have a rule in ML against gender exceptionalism.

In practice though it only means saying men are uniquely good for anything or women are uniquely bad in anyway.

It's totally fine to say men are uniquely awful or women uniquely great.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Totally unrelated, but I can't help wondering what the fifth law of Robotics would be.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A robot must know it is a robot for the other rules to apply.

That's my loophole.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hadn't thought of that but it makes a lot of sense.

[–]Svennboii 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I got banned for saiyng something criticising them

[–]DepressiveVortex 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I hate menslib but that wasn't rape. I don't believe anyone getting blackout drunk means they can't consent. Them not remembering their choice doesn't make it any less of a choice, so unless someone spiked them or literally forced the alcohol down them then it was consensual.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Fair enough. But you are using a different definition of rape than most campus feminists. There's no doubt that if the genders were reversed that most campus feminists,(including menslib,) would call it rape.

In their defense, he was downvoted. And comments deleted. But it does give you insight into the perspective that jumps to sympathize with women, even if they are arguably violating another person's consent.

Just like the biggest predictor of whether or not OP is the asshole in the sub "am I the asshole" is the gender of the OP, we see something similar in menslib.

[–]DepressiveVortex 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh definitely I agree that college campuses and indeed sometimes the law use different definitions of rape that go against my comment, and that they always use this to criminalise men and not women in these circumstances.

There's always been a strong bias against men on reddit and in society in general, that's why I laughed when I saw that r/ MRAPatrol states that most people on reddit are MRA's xD

That entire place is arrh/feminism's designated digital ass-licker. Don't ever expect objectivity or intellectual honesty from them; it won't happen.

[–]Rose_Scythe 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I really want to like that sub, but I can't help feeling they're so reliant on the approval of feminists to be seen as a "legitimate" men's issues sub that they're practically under their thumb and thus certain topics, even if they pertain to men's issues, are off-limits.

There was a post discussing the concept of internalised misandry, specically regarding parenting. There were a lot of replies worried that the use of the term "misandry" would upset users of the major feminist subs.

I'm reading all this thinking "So what? It's obviously the appropriate term given the subject matter outlined in the post, and it's exactly the language we need to properly discuss certain issues".

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They don't like to address issues or use terms we use. Since we discuss actual men's issues they're limited to complaining about toxic masculinity (anything men do) and male privilege.

[–]Rose_Scythe 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't understand why they prioritize placating feminists over discussing mens issues. Even when they do, it's never enough.

A while ago, this post appeared on MensLib. In the comments, people shared their experiences dealing with the aftermath of sexual assault.

Not long after, this post appeared on AskFeminists. The OP was upset because a lot of people sharing their stories in the MensLib post identified their attackers as women, and that didn't fit her male perpetrator, female victim worldview.

This happened ~3 months ago. On AskFeminists! Arguably the most progressive feminist sub on reddit. That sub is borderline overkill with the way it censors pinkpill, TERF, and SWERF opinions, so the fact that the linked post was so heavily upvoted is proof that the users there endorse this blatantly misandry.

[–]AryaBarzan 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I really want to like that sub,

Why? The subreddit is literally just a mouthpiece for feminism and has nothing to do with helping men (in fact, I'd argue it certainly hurts men). The vast majority of "issues" that sub addresses are not even issues most men care about. It was pretty much just created so feminists could create their own feminized version of /r/MensRights to circumvent others from coming here since they've been losing male subscribers to their theology. There's nothing to like about it, even the name sucks lol.

[–]Rose_Scythe 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Haha, I do see your point. Maybe I'm just an optimist. It is one step forward, three steps back over there though.

Once in a while I'll see a post there that makes an interesting point. The next day I'll see this shit. I can certainly see why the feminist subs approve of it's existence - most topics there are about how men can be better.

[–]AryaBarzan 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

most topics there are about how men can be better.

Yup, which has absolutely nothing to do with "men's rights". The sub is run by feminists (all the mods are feminists that post/are mods on misandric subs like againstmensrights or TheBluePill). If you want to discuss men's actual issues or men's rights, then /r/MensRights is the best place for it. If you want to see another feminist echo chamber disguised as a men's issues sub, then MensLib is the place.

MensLib is a zoo for castrated pets of feminists.
