Here is the original post, “safest way to defend against women”. What I don’t think I mentioned in that one is that I’m a manager for a stores grocery department where she is a stocker. In addition to screaming when asked questions, she also goes on long, irrelevant rants as her way of refusing to help when asked, sometimes even doing the opposite of the request. I talked to the store manager about her screaming in front of customers after being asked questions and also refusing to help with anything. He cared more about the “insubordination” and said we should talk to her but that we should wait until a female manager is there so that we’re protected. After the payroll/hr lady got there, we all went to the store managers office and he said to her that she has to help me with anything reasonable that I ask. At first she said it’s not true but I gave examples and that’s when she really started screaming. She started verbally attacking me like “he doesn’t listen to me either, he doesn’t care about doing his job right, him and everyone else in my life target me, he harasses me!” (Yes, you all predicted it) and tried to give him examples like me asking her if she saw things come in or to help with things that aren’t her job (they are). He seemed to know exactly what the situations looked like and explained that it was all normal work talk and I’m just doing my job and nothing she said is harassment and also that we have good cameras so he can see pretty much everything. She kept insisting that I was harassing her by asking questions or working near her and then she started screaming bible verses, something about “evil shall not leave the house” or something, whatever that’s supposed to mean. Too much happened for me to really tell it well but I think that’s pretty much the gist of it. I am really glad that we have cameras and also that the other lady sat there with us. After she left I told him that all the harassment talk made me uncomfortable and he said that he knows I don’t and I don’t need to worry about it. He said that he has had false accusations before too and everything turned out fine. He said that he would write all of that down too in her file or something like that. The thing that worries me though is that I have to spend a significant amount of time in the managers office that doesn’t have cameras. I share the office with 3 other managers but they’re often not there at the same time. I usually don’t schedule her alone because she doesn’t answer the phone but I think I might need to now and to schedule someone else when I’m the only other grocery staff there. The store manager said that he knows it was my first HR type meeting but that’s as bad as it gets so after that I’ll be able to handle any of them. Even after the 20 minute verbal attack screamed about me I still feel bad for her. I don’t think I’ve met someone this crazy before and it’s one of the craziest situations in my life if not the first. I’m pretty uncomfortable working with her now but hopefully it gets better.
