Yesterday during lunch, I noticed I was missing a few key ingredients to a recipe. I grabbed my keys and headed out the door. As I came outside there was a woman walking her dog on the sidewalk. As soon as she saw me step on the sidewalk, she immediately turned around and being to walk the other way. Now unbeknownst to her, my car was in the same direction that she was walking. As she was walking I noticed she kept looking back at me over her shoulder; this caused me to walk a little slower. After she looked back at me for the forth time, I simply just stopped walking. I knew at this point she was uncomfortable and I wanted to afford her a larger safety net, so to speak. After there was about 40 to 50 feet worth of space between us, I continued walking to my car, got in and drove to the grocery store.

Moral of the story is, gentlemen be aware of not only the times we are in but also the nuances of everyday life. Simple gestures such as the one I used can be the difference between having a normal day and going through life altering experiences. This contributes to your peace of mind just as much as the other person's.
