Nancy Grace is certainly amusing to watch (Unleash the lawyers!!!), but I think that she sometimes focuses on the factors that lead children and teens to commit crimes. For example: Let's say the girl was bullied at school or abused at home. Nancy Grace would possibly argue that these variables may have contributed to the crime eventually occurring.

The problem with this is that it removes the agency of the criminal. As my English professor once said "Sometimes, a snake is just a snake." Sometimes teenage girls commit crimes for stereotypical teenage girl reasons (jealousy, the criminal is the bully, boyfriend issues). Nancy Grace tries to get people to sympathize with criminals on a case by case bases.
