I think it's a case by case basis, if you want gender roles find a women or a man who agrees with you. But societally they shouldn't be encouraged.

Gender roles can be torn up and thrown in the trash, HOWEVER…. The problem I’ve experienced is that it’s okay for a woman to take in as many masculine roles as she wants, BUT, many will hold it against a man if he picks up the slack in the missing feminine roles, or worse, they’ll hold it against you that she’s taking on the roles that she is deciding to do (because secretly she wants you to do those things but doesn’t trust you to or has her own opinions on). It’s a damned catch 22 with feminism.

Women are biologically programmed to respect men that take the lead and guide them.

A 50/50 woman will probably lose respect for you and cheat or leave you for the first man that leads her.

In individual cases: whatever works for you.

For society as a whole, it's probably best to keep traditional gender roles. There's a reason why they are traditional.

They are roles, in the old days they were gendered, women keep pushing the narrative they don't want them to be but most actually do.

Most men don't care and would be happy to fulfill either.

Personally I don’t really care what it is as long as it’s something we can agree on. I’m fine with the traditional way of things as long as she’s an actual housewife and not just sitting in the house doing nothing all day.

Same with the 50/50 way of things. I don’t mind a lady who can hold her own as it does take the financial burden off of me. Ultimately it doesn’t matter to me. I’m for both situations as long as my partner puts in her share of the work.
