I had a sit-down with my twin sister right after christmas, and I learned that she was a feminist, we had an argument and that was that, no hard feelings. While I did not agree with her totally, she did say that she supported mens rights as well, so that was good, but what she got me realizing is that we, mensrights are putting up a shield that says "Us versus them", them being the feminists of course, and they want to suppress us in most cases, but not all and we have begun feeling like victims from what we hear, that they want to castrate us, that we are all rapists and should be put down, how they would just love to kill us slowly for the pain we put them through, but here is the harsh truth: They are kinda right.

Now I'm not saying that we are all rapists and suppressors, but the majority of rapes are done by men and against women. Movies, music, games, even literature today hold values that demean women in one way or another. Just imagine if it was the other way around, where the women were rugged, cold faced killers and the men wore revealing clothes, acted helpless and were the actual prize for the girl in the end (of course not implying that all women want is a man, that would be sexist). They have a right to feel pointed out, they have a right to be mad, even though that anger might be misplaced on innocent men, and let's face it, 8, maybe 9/10, women are victims of collision between sexes, that they were too drunk to give consent is an actual thing, and while the somewhat lies with them it is they who take it the hardest 98/100 of the times (In cases where it is not active cheating on a partner).

Most men objectify women, it is no lie, and the degree of objectifying varies greatly from being everyday chivalrous to treating them like actual objects and can we judge someone who does not know our intent? How can they know that the gesture of holding open a door is not a sexual advance (This is an actual thing)?

There is much more that I could say, but my point is this: When has this subreddit turned from being a place of support for male victims of collision between sexes and into a feminist-hating circle jerk? I know this is what happens when too many people wind up supporting a page, and someone posts a funny anti feminist link and it get's a bunch of up votes from the new guys and someone else does it too and it goes on and on until it becomes a trend.

Yes, I acknowledge there is a huge untouched issue of male victims, and women use their oppression as an excuse to commit acts of violence against men, and that is seriously fucked up, but we must not become like the feminists: hating a group simply because they hate us. Humiliating their followers simply for being stupid or their activists for being unfair.

This is /r/Mensrights, and we are here to support each other, men around the world who feel unjustly accused of sexism, or feel that the law is not on their side simply for being a man. We must not lower ourselves to the level where we point out the slightest post based in ignorance of the male struggle, the Facebook posts where a girl is proud to have punched a man, the comic where a woman is displayed as strong and independent in the face of the cowardly male suppressor; for these do not matter, this is not oppression and if this subreddit is becoming like that of, say r/atheism, where all we do is sit around and feel sorry for ourselves while also superior in every way to our "enemies", then I see no hope for this subreddit, and thus my faith in the mens right movement as a whole will fade, for if this is the face of our movement then I rather not be part of it at all.
