circumcision is an ethical issue. Boys do not consent. They cant.

They get a part of them ripped off and mutilated. I don't care if it prevents all cancers and increases your life by 10 years to get circumcised, it should be the choice of the one getting cut up.

I think making a medical case is counterproductive and distracting.

The issue is consent and choice over one's body. Even if circumcision was beneficial, I believe forcing someone to do it would be wrong.

If an adult chooses to get circumcised, that's his business. If he's too young to make an informed decision, I believe the state should protect his body, not mutilate it, nor allow anyone else to.

Why is female circumcision harmful? Rather than lump all female genital mutilation into one big category and pretend it's all the very worst examples, let's ask simply "is removing the clitoral hood harmful to girls"?

If the answer is "yes, of course", then I think the conversation is done...unless someone has a sick fascination with cutting little boys penises.
