I was disgusted by the thread as well. Bouncers are meatheads and use execessive force routinely - no way should that be tolerated or expected.

There is no celebration. This post is misleading and appears to be a troll attempt to create conflict where none exists

For the record, the comments that mention the word "white knight" have negative ratings. The best rated comments are clearly critical of excessive force.

They aren't upvoting the fact that this guy died, or being happy that someone died, they are upvoting the fact that this guy tried to stand up for a woman and died because of it.

As shown in the linked story, the problem started with a woman slapping a casino guard in the face.

The guard then arrested her, pinning her to the ground.

A male friend then apparently attempted to intervene on her behalf (not covered in the link above, but mentioned in other press coverage), which resulted in him being arrested and pinned to the ground in a choke position.

This triggered a pre-existing heart condition and this resulted in his death in hospital 4 days later.

The upvotes are not because of the joy we get from the guy's death it's to ensure it gains popularity enough to show people that putting yourself in harm's way when you don't need to is stupid.

I upvoted because I strongly believe in the idea that white knighting is bad and routinely makes situations worse. This is exemplified by the unfortunate circumstances of that instance.
