MR has existed for quite a long time with little progress:
- The only unequivocal victory has been conversion of "take your daughters to work day" into "take your children to work day".
- Yes, joint custody has become a commonplace idea, more in theory than practice; physical joint custody is often frustrated by parental alienation and other stratagems.
- Feminism goes from victory to victory. For example, sexual assault issues go from removal of corroboration requirement, to conviction on oath only, to believe the woman, to guilty until proved innocent, to inclusion of regretted sex, ....
Why so little progress? One reason is dogma. Here we have a post of MR interest - but apparently ~half of readers do not bother to follow up, instead rejecting any consideration out of hand due to extraneous dogma unrelated to MR - namely, whether the source qualifies for left-wing purity (or right-wing purity, or ....):
https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/ab374x/x_feminist_amy_siskind_tries_to_get_a_professor/
Of course, it's quite easy to follow up, finding confirmation on relatively non-partisan sources such as Youtube, Wiki, etc. But apparently, to many MRAs, virtue-signalling about their left-wing purity is more important than making progress. (Oh, I'm sure right-wing conservatives also allow partisan dogma to over-ride human rights objectives; their rush to believe the false accusations in the Ellison case is just one example.)
Why do MRAs prefer virtue-signalling to progress?
Do men actually engage in more internecine squabbling than women (who've managed to form quite a number of very successful pressure organisations and strategies and take over academia, government, ...)?
Now watch die-hard left-wingers attack the messenger (myself, Breitbart) rather than address the issue of MR failing due to extraneous political dogma.
Edit: I should add - As harmful to the men's human rights movement as the continual left-right Sturm-und-Drang, is also the non-cooperation - indeed, at times, hostility - between MRAs, MGTOWs, TRPs, PUAs, father's rights, and incel communities (for lack of a better word).
The inability to coalesce around core principles - videlicet, men's human rights in the face of oppressive gynocracy - has MR foolishly shooting itself and its potential allies in the foot.
