From 14-26 I (28m) was a successful serial dater. I never went longer than a month without having a girl in my life romantically in some way. I’m a monogamous minded person.

Longest relationship was 6 years, a few one year relationships. I’ve ended some, some have been ended by the other. I’ve been cheated on, I’ve been with partners cheating on their SO. I’ve never cheated.

At 26 I started reflecting on partners I had and decided I wasn’t making good decisions when it came to partners. I’ve spent the next almost 3 years celibate and just leaving that alone.

I find myself now wanting to start dating again but my outlook is that it is essentially pointless. I don’t trust women. I don’t need to go into why - it’s beaten to death in this community. But if anyone has been in my situation, let me know you thoughts.

Being successful with women I had to put on a front and disregard a lot of my own values. What works, works and we all want connection. I’m not willing to not be who I am anymore, but I don’t see my “regular self” getting any attraction. Tbh at this point I’m not willing to pretend. I’m a therapist now and I work so hard to foster solid relationships with people it’s very hard for me to be deceptive with people. I would rather not.

That being said, being a more sensitive man who cares about emotions and people is basically death in dating women today.
