A topic I’ve been wondering about for a while is how to make rape easier to actually punish while also not risking a higher amount of people being falsely charged with rape.

I often see men being worried about being falsely accused and having their life ruined on here. However the amount of rape reports actually ending with arrests and a guilty verdict is very small.

A big issue is that rape is just very difficult to prove and finding evidence is both tricky and extremely mentally demanding for the victim. I’m aware there are other issues that play into this including a lack of (legal) resources for victims or victim withdrawal due to stress/shame but a big part is the evidence dilemma and I’m wondering if there’s any solution. Obviously we can’t just demand less evidence because then false charges would slip through very easily.
