Remember that while women may "suffer" from relatively similar levels of reproductive abuse, only one gender has the law on their side.

If a woman spermjacks a man, that's it for him legally. End of line.

A man, however, is not legally allowed to rape or coerce a woman into getting an abortion.

Does a gender divide really change the fact that 10% of men report experiencing reproductive abuse?

The likelihood you know a man who's been abused or will be abused is the same that you know a man who is gay.

I think more really needs to be done to stop reproductive abuse in general.

Are you saying that since the difference isn't that big it shouldn't matter that men are getting tricked into fatherhood?

Almost 2 percent? That's 18% more relatively speaking. which is quite a bit more.

Some random thoughts- consider the fact that as described, pregnancy coercion is a combination of two stats for women, both the individual situations of continuation and termination of the pregnancy. It's interesting that men's rate is still higher on paper when by definition none of them can be cajoled into terminating their pregnancy.

Second, remember the consistent factor that men and women do selectively underreport or overreport depending on the question asked. According to that same report, women are four times more likely to disclose childhood sexual abuse, for instance. Men are just less likely to disclose anything that makes them come off less stereotypically masculine.

Third, a word of warning about the report itself. Remember the source report is the often criticized 2010 NIPSVS, which changed the way it labeled male reports of rape to "made to penetrate" and classified them as sexual assault which obfuscated the fact that otherwise men would have reported just as many rapes as women that year.
