Go have a severe panic attack where you spend hours literally feeling like you are dying, a physical response so severe people go to A&E thinking it is a heart attack, and let me tell you that no you can't have any Xanax which would stop the panic attack within 5 minutes because you might get addicted.
Much better to remain suffering from a preventable disorder than to take a few pills after all.

Dude why do you assume I haven’t been through that, you’re not the only one who’s had panic attacks that mimicked heart attacks and thought you were dying.
I’m not against taking a Xanax for a severe panic attack.
I’m also not against someone taking morphine for serious surgery.
But if someone just comes along and says “lol I love morphine this is me meme when I’m on morphine haha I’m so crazy drugs drugs drugs” I’m going to be a bit concerned, and I wouldn’t assume that they are responsible by default.

Yeah see if I was talking about doing hard opiates I would actually understand your reaction. When I'm talking about anxiety meds I don't. Opiate addiction ruins lives far more than benzo addiction even though, yes, benzos do cause more physical dependency than opioids. Still the lifestyle of opiate addiction fucks people right up. Same is not true of benzos. Main danger would be cold turkey after long-term use, tapering is important.
You know I've been using benzos for roughly 5-6 years and I can still take a dose as low as 0.5-1mg Xanax and it's effective because I know how to take tolerance breaks and use the stuff PRN.
You were giving off the impression you didn't understand benzos do in fact have clinical benefits hence me mentioning panic attacks. I didn't imply I'm the only person in the world who has them. But people who talk about benzos like you do seem to focus a lot on their risks without paying any mind to their benefits.
There is no other safer family of drugs that currently exists on the market that will put a halt to a panic attack better than a rapidly acting potent benzodiazepine. If the pharma industry finally makes one that has less addiction potential I will by all means give it a go. For now I must use what is available. Benzos have a long therapeutic history and are still in use to this day because they're effective treatments.

Well certainly you’re aware how this meme could come off as someone using benzos to party? I’m not the only one who cane off different? People have had their lives ruined. I just don’t like to see that. Some people even say the withdrawal is worse than opiates. If you take them for an acute panic attacks only as prescribe then good for you.

Well yes Xanax is already a meme drug. That's why I posted the picture for fun. It only got serious when you got personal. You get me?
I actually don't even think Xans are recreational. If I wanted to get high off benzos I would use Valium or temazepam or bromazepam. The muscle relaxing hypnotics are best for getting high.
Xanax is big in pop culture right now mostly thanks to rappers, same as lean which lol I can buy over the counter, but Xanax is nothing special for getting high.
It is however extremely good for treating panic attacks. I use alprazolam for legit anxiety just as I said. If I want to get high off something I use weed, codeine, DHC, or one of the other benzos I mentioned.
Oh and Lyrica/pregabalin. They prescribe that very liberally in my country but it is so easy to get smashed off your face on it even at normal doses. I can't believe how doctors just hand it out. And the withdrawal is worse than benzos. Still doctors do not care they prescribe high doses.
I'm also scripted amphetamines but I don't really find those too recreational either. I'm deffo more of a downer kind of guy. But the speed is very functional and useful for ADHD.

It causes temporary brain damage when you're under the influence of it cuz you're bartarrrrded. Nah but seriously the withdrawals can be harsh if you use high doses but it does not cause long-term brain damage no.
You are probably thinking of the study linking benzodiazepine use to dementia. However it shows only a correlation not a causation. It also omits the fact that if you have a condition benzos are used to treat (anxiety, insomnia, depression, etc) you are already more likely to get dementia anyway.
There is literally no evidence benzos actually cause any type of brain damage and in fact there have been studies on Valium (same family of drugs as Xanax) showing it specifically does not cause brain damage.
Don't believe everything you read in the papers and also remember it is in Big Pharma's best interest for doctors to stop prescribing benzos because they are cheap old generic drugs. Pharma wants you on new expensive patented brand name drugs for maximum $$$$$$.
SSRIs... now those I'd be worried about causing brain damage.

Me too except the insomnia. But you know I'm honestly looking forward to being old in a way. People are nice to you, you can get away with saying what you want, and doctors will throw strong opiates at you like they're going out of style.
I was chilling with my elderly neighbour yesterday because my electricity went out. She was very kind and let me use her home for the day as I needed internet access and my shower wouldn't even work etc. She's still all there but sadly her husband passed away a few years ago. She seems to be coping with it and getting on with life though and also seems healthy given her age, usual arthritis and stuff but she still moves around a lot, goes on walks, gardens, etc. I gave her my old iPhone to thank her for all the help she's given me over the years as a neighbour.
Hang on shit this Xanax thread took a wholesome turn... erm I mean I GOT A XANAX GOLD CHAIN PERCOCET MOLLY PERCOCET.
