Unfortunately all the schooling before college is meant to teach you those skills. I feel bad for some homeschooled kids if they don’t get put in enough activities to learn those skills but for most people 12 years of schooling is supposed to teach you those skills. Group projects, lunch and recess and even just being in a class.

I 100% understand it can be hard but I hate when people try to minimise it and say personality doesn’t matter it’s all looks. Sounds like you realise the importance of being engaging and able to talk to people if you are trying to emulate your alcohol personality (probably more outgoing and less shy)

Best thing to try to remember is that even when we make awkward sentences or actions most people are too busy focusing on how they themselves are coming across or even only half paying attention (see point above about truly listening to people) to worry about how you are coming across. No one remembers little awkward things we punish ourselves far more and stress about it more than we need to.
