It's a common cliche at this point, mainly because it seems to hold true.

Some girl I follow on social media since my school days and it seems she's recently gotten into a new relationship. This girl is your typical ultra-vegan ultra-pro environment type, constantly posting those stupid insta-PSAs of "animals are sentient beings yadda yadda yadda", "we need to take care of the environment". Now she's dating some wealthy guy who lives in a massive house and drives a heavily gas guzzling car. His profile pic is also of home smiling at a restaurant, with a plate of food containing meat.

Another girl, is a regular on some left wing youtube channel I follow (I'm more of a centrist, leaning right these days but I follow to get an idea of where everyone is at). Anyway, this girl has outright called herself a full blown communist, and also goes on and on about how whites have oppressed everyone else. Boyfriend? A white upper class conservative type.

A cousin of mine, would always go on and on about how she don't need no man and she'd make a financial success of herself, herself. Guess what, she just happened to fall for a guy with a lot of money and now lives in a massive house, goes on holidays 6+ times a year, drives a merc all while having a bog standard HR job. Wonder how.

And I see this repeated again and again and again.

It's all so so tiresome.
