The dreamstone is probably like a bank, to whom the homeowner has a housing loan to. Or maybe the dreamstone is like the actually property owner, and the current tenant is only renting.

The dreamstone is an antagonist in the film. It is sinister. The dreamstone, by twistedly granting Diana’s wish, forcibly evicts handsome man from handsome body. It is just like a corrupt bank falsifying documents, saying the current homeowner doesn’t actually own his house, and orders law enforcement to take him out of the property.

Handsome man’s consent to own and stay in his body is violated, yes. But by the dreamstone.

When Steve the person is put into handsome body, it is like the corrupt bank selling the house to prospective buyers w/out being honest to them. In fact, the dreamstone also violated Steve’s consent to be put into that body.

But what’s done is done. Steve is now the owner of handsome body. It is no longer handsome man’s.

At this point (when Steve proves to Diana that it is him, and Diana believes), Steve has full consent to use that body. Diana only needs Steve’s consent towards that body. None of them are obliged to get handsome man’s consent. He is no longer part of the situation.
